First meeting of Development Council set for September 24, 2019

Posted on 08/05/201911/19/2019 by Admin

The Mid-Willamette Homeless Initiative Steering Committee meets for what could be the last time on Thursday, August 29 from 3 to 5 at the offices of the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Government offices on High Street in Salem (the steering committee did not meet in July). Then in September, the members of the steering committee and others will meet as the Marion-Polk Continuum of Care Development Council. That meeting will also be in the MWVCOG offices from 3 to 5.

The Development Council will consist of the parties to a “Memorandum of Agreement Relating to the Creation of a Development Council to Form a Continuum of Care Collaborative Governance Structure for the Marion and Polk County Region”, including the Union Gospel Mission of Salem, the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley and the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency. To date, Yamhill County has not reconsidered its decision to remain with the Rural Oregon Continuum of Care.

Another meeting of area providers or “stakeholders” is also planned for September. The meeting will take place at Polk Fire District Station #1, 1800 Monmouth Avenue, in Independence. The date and time have yet to be determined.
