The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Mid-Willamette Valley Homeless Alliance was well attended and all business as Former Marion County Commissioner Janet Carlson, in the role of staff, led members through the complicated process of approving the work and recommendations they had made as members of the Development Council. That meant approving the roster of board members, ratifying the governance charter, turning in signed conflict-of-interest and code-of-conduct forms, electing the chair and vice-chair per the Council’s recommendation, approving finance statements, contributions and expenditures, and staff contract amendments, and appointing committees.

The board also heard a presentation from Ashley Hamilton and Dana Schultz with the Mid-Willamette Community Action Agency on the plans to roll out the Built for Zero initiative.
